GWCA League Rules


1. 10 points for an outright win, 7points for a draw or tie with scores level.
2. Batting points shall be derived by dividing the total runs by the amount of overs, up to a maximum of 5 points.
3. 1 Bowling point shall be scored for every 2 wickets taken. If a team cannot bat a full 11, the bowling side gains a maximum 5 points when all wickets are taken.
4. 20 points for an opposition ‘no show’.
5. 6 points, plus bonus points for abandonment.
6. If a game is cancelled, due to weather and pitch conditions each team will receive an average of their total points score at the end of the season.
7. The result sheet must be signed and completed at the end of each game by the Captains of each team. The winning team then must send this to the Results Secretary, to arrive no later than the Wednesday following the fixture. If the sheet does not arrive, the points will not be allocated to the winning side (at the discretion of the League Secretary and Gloucestershire WCA Committee). In the event of a draw it is the responsibility of the home side to send in the Results.
8. The winning team Captain will also be responsible for ringing in the result to the Results Secretary, on the evening of the game.
9. The matches will be 35 overs and each bowler can bowl a maximum of 7 overs per game.
10. Home side shall provide a new 5oz ball.
11. A team shall not consist of less than 8 players.
12. The Normal rules of Cricket shall apply there after.
