Hawkesbury Cricket Club
Hawkesbury CC first established its women’s section in 1998 and it has continued to flourish with over fifty girls and women members at the end of 2006. The club caters for all abilities from county players to beginners who play pairs rules with a softball.
The cricket club is very much the social heart of the village and the social side of the game is enjoyed almost as much as the cricket.
New applications for membership and fixtures for our social teams are welcomed.
Teams:
Girls’ Social (Softball, Mixed ages)
Women’s Social (13 to 60+ years old)
Girls’ U15 League
Women’s League
The club also has thriving youth and senior men sections. Girls are selected into these teams based on ability and were represented in the U09, U11, U13 and U15 squads in 2006.
Please check the website below for training days which have not been fixed at time of going to press.

Directions:
From M5 (Thornbury/North)
From J14 (M5) take B4509 towards "Charfield/Wickwar" (i.e. East). Continue for approx 1 mile until T junction. Turn right towards Wickwar (still B4509). Around corner turn left still towards Wickwar (and still B4509 though it might not look like it!) Travel past quarry on right and after approx 2 miles you come into Wickwar.
At T junction turn left along B4060 (right takes you to traffic lights - don't go there!) After a few hundred yards you need to turn right again (not into the housing estate but one just after it) - this is signposted 'Hawkesbury 4 miles'.
Travel straight along this road all the way - you go over the Common (cattle grid each end) and then up the hill towards Hawkesbury Monument. At the top of the hill turn right and travel into the village. You pass the pool on your right hand side. Before you turn the left hand corner into the High Street (if you pass the school and Beaufort Arms you have gone too far!) you will see a right turn marked "Cricket Ground". Turn right here and follow the track to the end and in though the gate.
From M4 (Bristol/London)
At M4 (Junction 18), take A46 to Stroud for 7 miles. At crossroads take the left turn into the village of Hawkesbury Upton (right turn takes you to Badminton). Go towards village (almost 1 mile) past The Fox on your right hand side and The Beaufort Arms on your left hand side. A few hundred yards further on (also on the left) is the school and an old people’s home. The turn to the John Hawkins Cricket Ground is next left (before you go around the corner). Follow the track to the end and in through the gate.
