Welcome to the Gloucestershire Women's Cricket Association (GWCA) website. The Association and league was formally set up in 2005 with 7 teams competing and won by Apperley CC. This year saw a larger league format with a total of 10 teams taking part.

GWCA AGM and Fixture Meeting
The meeting will be held at Thornbury CC on Wednesday 23rd January 2008, starting at 7:30pm. Every club is required to send a represenative to attend the meeting.

Next GWCA meeting is on the Thursday 27/09/07 at Thornbury CC comencing at 7:30. All clubs are invited.
2007 8-aside Indoor U17 Tournament
The following teams have confirmed their entry into this years tournament:
Shirehampton CC, Thornbury CC, Old Elizabethans CC, Plympton CC, Gloucester City Winget CC, Portishead CC.
Details of the draw will be announced shortly. Confirmed date of the competitions are 13/10/07, 10/11/07 and a finals day on 8/12/07.

2007 8-aside tournament
This years Womens 8-a-side festival will be held at Bristol University Sports Ground, Coombe Dingle.
Date : Sunday 2nd September
Start Time : @10.30am
Girls & Women of all ages are invited to play, but as required by the new ECB guidelines girls aged 13 or under will require parents written consent. Entry fees will be discussed at the next GWCA meeting as well as possible amendment of the rules. Please let Ian Moss know as soon as possible if you are interested in entering a team as there will probably be a limit of 10 teams.

The GWCA AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 11th January at Thornbury CC.

Congratulations to Plympton for winning the tournament, also to Shirehampton for winning the plate competition.

21/08/06Annual Presentation evening
October 13th has been booked provisionally for the GWCA presentation evening. The event will be held at Hatherley & Riddings CC. Awards to the winners and runners up in the GWCA League and for the County U13, U15, U17 and Senior Women's teams will be given.
Steve Kirby and Jon Lewis have been invited to attend the presentation. There will be once again a prize draw with some England and Gloucestershire memorabilia. A buffet will also be provided.
11/08/088-aside Tournament
This years 8-aside tournament will take place at Coombe Dingle on the 3rd September, proposed start time of 10.30am. The cost will be £20 per team to cover the cost of hiring the pitches. Please let Ian Moss know as soon as possible if you want to enter a team.

01/08/06The England Women's 2nd Test will be played at Taunton on the 29th Aug - 1st Sept. Programmes are available for sale from Ian Moss, all the proceeds from the sales of these programmes can be retained by the clubs for women's/girls development.
